I really wanted to go 2011 v3 chips set with DRR4 but all so want to get sli 980 "Reference Design" cards

But only have money for one or the other ....

I all ready have a great system but I feel the need to get some thing better before i just blow the money on some rubbish and have nothing to show for it .. Bearing in mind i will recoup money back from selling parts that i have now and would no longer need ie if i change cards or chip set .What would be the wisest move for me ..

My system atm is :

4770K
8GB DDR3
2X780

Please help me make up my mind the money is burning a hole in my pocket lool ;)

Do you play games/video edit or what? Your current system looks like a tank tbh, what are your full specs including monitor and peripherals?

Game mostly.....

But was thinking about windows 10 using more cores on cpu? so would see benefits in games from more CORES?

I am in two minds about a new Gpu ,Because they seem to change to fast one per year ...Where as 2011 chips sets take longer ? and is more the future proof?

Maybe i am wrong i don't no that's why i am here ...

Dx12 API would push more cores

Honestly gaming you'd probably see an equal performance or perhaps less right now, it's not worth going to a 5820k unless you are editing or such. The clock speed of an OC'd 4770k will probably beat the 5820k outright as games like core speed.

780s are still very strong. What peripherals do you have i.e. monitor, keyboard/mouse etc and what are the rest of the specs? (Case, drives etc) - Do you have an SSD?

Do you feel you don't get enough FPS in games or something like that? Imo it's not worth spending the wonga on an X99 DDR4 setup, better off waiting for Broadwell/Skylake instead as the 4770k is no slouch and shouldn't be a problem for any current games, especially with GTX 780s.

Whether windows 10 uses more cores or not isn't the issue. The games are still programmed separately. For example a single thread game such as skurim would play them same on either OS, even if W10 did allow more cores, because the game engine only uses a certain amount of cores/threads.

Basically its game related.

I don't see any game using more than 8 virtual cores (which is what the 4770k has) for a long while. As there's really no need to.

GPU technology needs to come on leaps before CPUs play a bigger role in games.

My system atm is :

OS: WIN 8.1
Asus ROG Swift PG278Q 27 G-SYNC READY 144hz 2560x1440p
BenQ XL2720T 27" TRUE 120hz 1920x1080p
Asus MAXIMUS VI HERO
Asus Xonar Essence STX Sound Card
CPU: 4770K
GFX: 2X780 ACX
RAM: 16GB DDR 1600hz
SSD: Samsung 840 PRO
SSD: 2X OCZ AGILITY 3
Evga 1200watt super nova
KeyBoard Ducky DK-9087 Shine 3 TKL
Mouse Zowie FK2
Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow

That spec is plenty tbh, for gaming you only really need an X99 setup with 3-4 gpu's at 4k res, where the 5820k isn't much better than the 4770k due to having less pcie lanes than the 5930/60. Id personally sit tight and wait to see what new gpu's arrive from each vendor.

Stick the money in an account you can't touch for a year then wait for Skylake and Pascal.

Honestly, you are throwing money away by upgrading if purely to stop yourself spending the money on something else.

980s have been out for ages and your 780s will be enough for a while until they are bettered.
