Hi Guys,
I need to upgrade the network below (Top image). What i am proposing is on the bottom.

What i plan to do is insert another 5 network cards into the server and connect all but 1 into a new gigabyte managed network switch. The other port will be connected directly to the linksys router and then the server will take over the DHCP side of the network.
I have heard that increasing the amount of network cards and putting in a managed switch will stop bottle necking.
This setup is used for video editing so large files are being transferred back and fourth from all the clients to the server all the time. The clients also directly open files that are stored on the server and it is causing jumping files etc as all clients are doing something at the same time.
Current Specs
Client machines are running windows xp x64
Server is running win2k3 and handles email aswell
the router looks after dhcp and the internet connection
2 gigbyte netgear 4 port switchs handle network traffic
Any of your input would be great on this guys and a recomendation on the managed switch would also be great aswell as anything else.
