My current pc is :

XP 3200 Barton
1 Gb Geil value ddr400
XFX 6600gt AGP
Abit AN7 motherboard

I only use my pc to encode video , use vista media center with my xbox 360
and play eve online. I am going to upgrade as my current setup is slow at video encoding and is a bit slow with media center, i was thinking of this new spec :

X2 3800
Abit KN9 nforce ultra
Corsair 1gb value dual channel kit

I would be grateful of some advice regarding the graphics card, Im looking for a card to match my old 6600GT but don't really want to spend more than £100 as i only play eve online.

As i am on a budget will i see much difference between my old pc and the new spec ?

Thanks in advance

Are you looking to *match* your 6600gt exactly or looking to spend £100, that'll get you a lot lot better than the 6600gt nowadays.

For instance this card here would crucify your old 6600gt.

Also i have just seen the 3700 san diego on overclockers for a cheap price

Is there much difference in performance between the san diego and x2 3200 ?

In single threaded applications, the 3700 is probably faster...

But when it comes to video encoding the x2 3800 being dual core will be twice as fast (in theory) compared to the 3700 so you're much better off going for a x2 3800, plus it clocks really well too, so why not ;)
