Upgrading old system

Im looking to upgrade my old system. I want to upgrade the processor and graphics card and possibly the motherboard.

Current:

gigabyte ma770t-ud3p
amd phenom II X2 550BE
palit gts 250

I was considering the following:

MSI 990FXA-GD80
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition
MSI ATI Radeon HD 6870 OC HAWK

would this be worth upgrading or can i get better parts for the same price?

have you tried unlocking the extra cored on your 550be ?

as such i wouldnt upgrade the mobo unless you have issues with your current one.

yes i have unlocked the extra cores on my processor, would i be better buying a cooler for it and overclocking rather than buying a new one?

definately.

if they work and are stable really don't see the point of getting a new processor.

As others have said no point in replacing the motherboard and no point in replacing the processor seeing as you have managed to unlock the cores

Spend the money you save by not getting a new processor and motherboard on a better graphics card!
