Hello all,

I bought a PC from overclocker a few years ago, the PC has been working very well and I am looking to improve the RAM so that it can last a few more years. Can the community suggest a few affordable options to improve the RAM size?

I was thinking to buy another set of the existing brand (2x4GB Team Group)Ram but they seems to be out of production. Can I buy an additional DDR3 (2x4GB) with a different brand? or am I better off changing the entire RAM with a new 2x8GB? Any suggestion on components I should buy? ideally I can do this under £80 would be great, my concern is compatibility ans so thanks in advance for the trouble!

The current build is:
  • GX-212-MS MSI GeForce GTX 760 OC Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
  • HD-167-SA Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW)
  • MB-270-MS MSI Z97M Gaming Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Micro ATX Motherboard
  • CP-476-IN Intel Core i5-4570 3.20GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail
  • MY-043-TG TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G1600HC9DC01)
  • CA-003-SF SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black
Thanks
S

Why do you feel like you actually need the additional RAM? What are expecting the extra will do to your PC?

But in general you can get any (Named brand at least) 2x4gb 1600mhz DDR3 RAM. Just get a used one as there should be many available at a decent price
