I am interested in trying out 3D gaming as I heard it is really quite impressive. I've spec'd up some parts to ajust my current setup and would apreciate any comments.

Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red £280.00

EVGA GeForce GTX 660TI SuperCclocked 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (3662-KR) with FREE Borderlands 2 PC Game £259.99

NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit with Duke Nukem Forever £69.95

Total : £623.44

It think this should have me ready to go, although it is fairly expensive and I'd like to bring the price down.

Definately like a 24"+ screen. Any comments/advice would really be appreciated.

That monitor is perfect for your needs, however youd really need a more powerful card and Vision 2.0 glasses, both of which are more expensive...

you can use 3d with that card no problems, maybe not with the best graphics settings but still doable no worries.

basically to assess 3d performance just half the frame rates you get in 2d

I can't give an comments on the hardware, but do you mind if I ask what games did you intend to play with 3D Support?

Mostly Batman, Skyrim, Counter strike and maybe some MW3.
When I looked it up all these games run fine in 3D, and apparently look and feel much better to play (obviously if the system can run it at a decent rate)

So would you say a better recommended setup would be :

Benq XL2420T 24" TRUE 120Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor - Black/Red £280.00

NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision 2 New Wireless Glasses & IR Emitter Kit £109.99

OcUK GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £299.99

Total : £689.98

Lot of money :( Was hoping to get it to around the £500 mark.

BenQ XL240T is a great monitor, i know couple people who own these and are impressed by the quality of image and over all. GTX 660ti should do but i if you do have a bit more to spend go gtx 670. Oh yeah and remember the galsses, NVIDIA GeForce 3d Vision

you dont need a 670.

i played 3d on my laptop with a 580m with no issues at 1080p. (same perf as a 460 overclocked)

like i said, you wont get max details at that res (not on some games anyway, a lot you will) but its ok.

dont spend more than you want, you will regret it later

what illuz means is some monitors have the 3d vision emitter built in so you only need the glasses, have had a look and it seems the XL2420T does not, so you will need the whole 3d vision kit.
