I have an AMD X2 4200 PC with a Gigabyte 780G Motherboard and 4GB DDR2 which I'd like to upgrade. It also have a 4850 graphics card.
I believe the board will take the Phenom x3 and some of the X4 CPU's. However I'm willing to upgrade the board if it makes for a better system.
The 4200 is pretty good but I'd like something more snappy when photo editing, plus I'll be playing the odd game too.
I'd prefer a cooler running CPU if possible.
Budget would be £400 for CPU, RAM (if needed as I've got 4GB DDR2) and MoBo, again if I should replace the 780G AM2+ board.
