Hi there, i'm looking to upgrade my nearly 3 year old PC, have around about £350 to spend.

My current specs are:

CPU: Intel Core i7 920 (Bloomfield) 2.67 Ghz
Mobo: ASUSTek P6T SE X58 Chipset
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
RAM: 6gb DDR3 triple channel - not sure on the frequency but CPU-Z says NB Frequency = 2137 Mhz, DRAM frequency = 534.3 Mhz
PSU: 750 W PC Power & Cooling Silencer

I'm hoping to get the PC back to running highest on games at 1680 x 1050 resolution or at least high, and have that last for maybe another couple years before a new build.

So I figure my best bet would be to buy an aftermarket CPU cooler of some sort and overclock the CPU (I've heard the 920s can go to 4.0 Ghz quite easily), i'm sure there are plenty of guides out there for the 920. Whats a good recommendation for a cooler?

RAM is ridiculously cheap for so much now so I figure it wouldn't hurt to put some more in of that, but I don't know whats compatible with my current RAM and what I can put in my motherboard.

And the graphics card I figure is the bottle neck of the build as its rather aged now - I figure it would be best to wait till say the Nvidia GTX 660Ti comes out (I've heard its soon?) and grab one of those, with the aim of getting a second for SLI in a couple years when I have more cash to build a whole new one. What are peoples thoughts on that?

Thanks for any help you guys can give me :)

the gpu will give a good performance boost at your res.
you could also sell your tri-channel memory and gpu and recoop some of your money.
