Hello

I already have now:

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1
Cooler Master V750 Semi-Modular PSU 80 Plus Gold

and I want to upgrade my old motherboard, cpu and ram from:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L
Kingston 4GB (4x1) DDR2 800 Ram

To:

Intel Core I5-4690K Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 3.5GHz LGA 1150 ? best/top batch ?
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H Socket 1150 Motherboard or Z97X-UD3H ?
G.skill RipjawsX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR3 CL9 1.5v 1600 or 1866 or higher ?

So is that a good build for gaming ? brand and spec ? I will overclock .

btw is it a good time to build/upgrade a pc ?

I need your help
Thanks

Hi.

Good choice on the GPU first of all, that is a BEAST.

Spec wise you may have overshot it a bit on the motherboard and RAM.

For the motherboard the £90 Z97X SLI would be perfect. Offering great OC potential and future SLI.

Gaming wise you DON'T need 16gb of RAM. 8gb is more than sufficient. Akao try and get a 2133/2400mhz kit. 8gb of 2400 Teamgeouo RAM is about £66 currently.

That would be really good.

If you haven't already you should get yourself a SSD. A great addition to any system.
What case will this live in?

Thanks

You mean Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI Socket 1150 right ?
so it's better than Z97X-UD5H and Z97X-UD3H ? and why ?
I'm not sure because it's cheaper and I don't really like sli/crossfire
so I will not really get another card.

I was going to get 8GB ram and I was sure it is more than enough for video games,
but I saw on guru3d forum that some gtx 970 users have issues with the vram because they have 8gb ram only I'm not sure if that is right or not,
also many bf3 and bf4 players had performance issues when they had 8gb ram and when they got 16gb ram the performance issues was solved,
and now video games recommends 8gb of ram, so I just want to be on the safe side.

We don't have Teamgroup RAM
there is only G.skill, Corsair, Kingston and Adata,
So which one should I get ? and should I get 1600 or 1866 or 2133
but anyway is it better than other brands or because it's cheaper ?

I don't have ssd but I want one, I may or not get it soon.

I have haf 922 and Hyper 212 EVO.

Thanks again :)

btw I want to get gaming mouse but I don't really want to pay more than $45
in my country we have between $40-55 :

ThermalTake Tt eSports Black Mouse $42
ThermalTake Tt eSports Black Element Mouse $55
Cooler Master Havoc Gaming Mouse $55

we have other brands lower than $45 like A4tech & ZALMAN
but I don't think they are good like ThermalTake or CM.

I want to get ThermalTake Tt eSports Black because it's the cheapest but is it good ?
and does it feel okay/good in hand, I have a normal size hand.

Thanks

Edit: lol I saw many users in newegg said ThermalTake Tt eSports Black died after just 1 year!
so I definitely will not get ThermalTake Tt eSports Black.

I'm starting to think I should get cheaper mouse like A4tech or ZALMAN xD
so are they good?

I think I'll get an ssd,
what do you think about SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB $105 ?

I have haf 922 and it doesn't have 2.5 inch for the ssd and I think Samsung 840 Evo doesn't come with 2.5 to 3.5 bracket
and I think I may not find 2.5 to 3.5 bracket in country,
so what should I do ?

Thanks
