Hey guys. Currently I have an AMD 1090t @ 3.8 with stock cooling and, 8gb ram and the palit gtx460 2gb. I am a flight sim x player and looking to upgrade since things are starting to get a little out dated.

Since technology has come on so much since Flight Sim X was released I would like to go for a bundle that would run the sim at great settings with addons. I'm looking to purchase a new processor, mother board and also CPU cooler to achieve a high overclock.

Budget: £350

So far I have found a I7 2700k with the Gigabyte B75M-D3V and 4gb ram, Off course I will sell the ram with my old hardware.

Anyone got any suggestions? Is the I7 2700k the way to go?

The way to go is a 3570k Ivybridge with a z77 based motherboard to allow overclocking, the 2700k Sandybridge you mentioned is last generation chip. Its still a good cpu but it has hyperthreading which is not needed in gaming.

Something like this,
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £167.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £112.99
1 x Thermalright True Spirit 140 CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £39.95
Total : £332.33 (includes shipping : £9.50).

The 3770k has hyperthreading, so unless you need it such as video encoding then it i would go for the 3570k.

You could also go for a cheaper motherboard if you dont want sli or crossfire.

I do video and music production on my PC also but rendering times isn't really a big issue for me, im a patient guy. I'm not after SLI, my games don't support it. What mother board would you recommend that is cheaper?
