Hey guys, new here.

I'm trying to decide whether to attempt building a PC (never done it before) or buying a prebuilt.
I am eyeing up this on the OC website at the moment.

I do have a budget of 1k-1.2k.
It's for playing games such as GW2, Wow, SWTOR, Battlefield, just anything a long those lines.
Anyone got any suggestions or think that build would be good enough to last me for a good few years?

That prebuilt is big no.

First of all CPU is like half of that in consoles.
6 core/12 thread is minimum for gaming PC intended to last.
Consoles have 7 cores dedicated exclusively for running games.

PSU is cheap garbage not designed to last.
And would treat it like 400W one from the start.

Also there's zero sense in SATA SSD, when standard level NVMes don't cost any more while having like 4-5 times the read speed.
(Microsoft's coming DirectStorage will work only with NVMe/PCIe drive)

And you would be paying ridiculous sum (better used for hardware) to Microsoft for becoming their unpaid alpha tester for buggy patches.
