Hi guys this is my second thread. I would like to upgrade my PC as it is very slow. I was thinking of buying a new mobo, CPU and GPU and memory however my budge is quite limited. Now I am thinking of leaving the GPU and upgrading the other three and I can add the GPU later. My budged is around 300 pounds.

Any help please.

Currently:
Q6600
Gigbyte p53 DS3
2GB OCZ 800Mhz
8800GT

Any other suggestions please? Is it worth upgrading the CPU and mobo or shall I just change the memory as it is quite slow.

THanks

I mainly play on my ps3 and xbox. But I wannt get Counter strike on PC and well if upgrade I will play more on PC, possibly max payne 3

Also I the reason I want to upgrade is just to make the PC generally faster. My mac with i7 and 8gb is soooo smooth compared to my PC but I don't usualy play games even tho i have l4d2 and team fotress 2 installed.

So this Pentium CPU is supposed to be better than my Q6600?

I'd consider that to get you on the new socket. Sell your old mobo bundle to recoup some cash. Someone will want that Q6600 and overclock it I'm sure.

The G840 holds close to the i3 for gaming but its much cheaper. Once the i5K are cheaper/going second hand you can upgrade the CPU then and overclock. At £50ish it's easier to justify "writing off" the pentium CPU much further down the line
