I have £250 to spend on upgrading both, could go a little over if necessary.

At the moment I'm rocking my default HP one which is 300W, so in order to get a better graphics card than the one I have now (Nvidia Geforce G210) I would have to upgrade my PSU, right?

This is all part of my goal to fully upgrade my computer, so this would be the best place to start I think because they should both work with the Motherboard and CPU which I buy in a couple of months time.

If you are planning on buying bits later, then I recommend buying all at once.

If the card will be used in your current system, then check if it will fit in your current system.

Shouldn't matter should it? They're not parts which will affect the selection process of buying the rest of the parts.

and by not fit do you mean physically fit, or PCI-E slots cause my motherboard has a x16 slot

What case do you have?

There should be a maximum video card length it can take, then just check the graphic card manufacturers website to find out the dimensions.

It's a standard HP case, I've had a look and it looks like it'll be able to hold a bigger card
