upgrading ram & cpu 965p-ds3 path

Have a gigabyte 965p-ds3, and would like to upgrade the RAM & CPU.

I currently have a c2d e4400 CPU and 2 gigs of ram.

What is the maximum rated RAM and CPU I can use on this motherboard?

I was going to go with this

q6600 and 4x1GB of DDR2 800 as it's a good price point (bang for buck)

any thoughts? I only need 4 GB RAM as I will be running XP 32bit.

You can use any speed of DDR2 in the board.

It will happily take a Q6600 too, tho it may not clock it too much further than 3.4ghz.

Also 4 sticks of ram in the 965 and overclocking is another problem

Whilst I had no issues clocking my P965 Gigabyte with four 1gb sticks of OCZ PC2-6400 Platinum, and then 4x1gb PC2-5300 Ballistix, there's no sensible reason to choose 4x1gb over 2x2gb these days.
