Upgrading RAM on a laptop

A mate of mine has dropped off his laptop for me to upgrade it from 1GB to 2GB. I've never done anything with a laptop before, is it just a case of taking the back cover off and slotting in the new RAM?

Right, eventually got the cover off after much swearing! Right, got photos of the RAM modules, how the hell does this work then?

Turns out they weren't leavers as one just snapped off when I tried to pull it, seems it was just the connector that holds the RAM in place. I think it's a single 1GB module there, should be okay with this module?
