Upgrading RAM on OC Bundle

Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting "Quasar 240i" Intel Core i5 4670K @ 4.4GHz Overclocked Haswell Gaming PC Bundle but at the moment I can only go for the default 8GB version.

If in the future I need to upgrade to 16GB, will I just be able to replace the 2x4GB with 2x8GB and keep the overclock without any further messing about?

I know that 16GB seems excessive now, but Star Citizen is already listing 8GB as minimum, and I imagine this will become more common.

Thanks for any input.

No ram timing and command rate may be different and cause issues you can up it to 16gb with the drop down menu even tho it will add 65 pounds to the bill

Yeah - that's the thing. Can't go the extra £65 right now - I'm in Ireland, and it works out nearly an extra €100. I'm pushing my luck with her indoors as it is!

Let me ask a slightly different question, then: Would I be able to swap the RAM down the line and maintain the OC with some fiddling and help from the forum?

I'm kind of torn between going for this or attempting what P4Clock suggests. I could probably get a 16GB build for not much more than the bundle costs, or less if I go for stock cooling for now and then look at OC'ing in the future.

Yes ofc you can use guides to get he OC back yourself were always willing to help with ocing its what most of the guys on the forums and the mighty 8 PACK live for :)

Apparently 16GB isn't that much of an issue with regard to overclocks its 32GB that's the problem. I assume this is because of the additional load it places on the memory controller built into the CPU but if anyone know better pls feel free to correct me on that...
