Upgrading RAM question

Currently on 8GB on my Asus p8z68-v gen3 motherboard and 2700K. Probably won't be upgrading to a new system untill the Skylake E CPUs come out which is well into next year I think. Thinking 8GB might be cutting it a little short especially with newer games coming out this fall, so I am considering getting 16gb.

My question is, if I do a straight swap for 2x4gb with 2x8gb sticks and the RAM being exactly the same (same manufacturer, speeds, timings etc) but just bigger in capacity, will I need to reset all my overclock settings in the bios? Or can I just leave them as they are? I currently have the 2700K at 4.6ghz, rock stable since I got it several years ago, but getting it stable was an absolute pain in the back side and I can't even remember what I did to get it stable. I obviously have the the bios settings saved, so could I just reuse them or do you think I would have to go through the whole tweaking process again? I'd also have remove my CPU cooler to access the ram sticks, which is another annoyance. :o

I would prefer to leave the settings as they are as I am actively using my computer currently and don't want to compromise the stability. If 8gb is enough (which it currently seems to be), should I just wait to I build a new system?

Some advice would be greatly appreciated.
