upgrading ram with windows 7?

heres the problem, im running windows 7 32bit

which shows i have 3.25Gb (installed 6Gb) as only the 64 bit OS operates above 4GB

as my current 6Gb (DDR2) wont fit or work in the new MB (DDR3) im at a dilema

do i buy 4/6Gb of DDR3 and run windows 7 32bit
or
do i buy windows 7 64bit and then buy 4/6/8Gb DDR3

(pc will be used for imaging software, work, day to day and gta sometimes)

64bit. 32bit is absolutely pointless in this day and age.

ok thanks, do you know roughly how bit the 64bit OS is? if im changing OS might look at changing HDD to SSD

I believe the ISO is only ~500mb bigger, so shouldn't be too much at all to be honest!

You can download a 64 bit iso, install that and use the 32 bit key. Saves you from buying another copy of Windows when you already own it: http://www.w7forums.com/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads-t12325.html

does it also work with 32bit windows vista? since i have 32bit copy of vista now abandon

With Vista it also works. As for XP however it doesn't.
