Upgrading RAM ?

Hi everyone, I have a Legion Slim 5 16IRH8 - Type 82YA which has 16GB RAM, (2x8) DDR5 and I want to upgrade to 32GB. The listing for my laptop on Overclockers says it supports 32GB.

I have looked at the parts for my laptop and I can purchase: Lenovo MEMORY,16G,DDR5,5600,SODIMM,SAMSUNG
Part No5M31K03047
CommodityMEMORY

Would this be compatible if I got x2 or should / can I get a 1x32gb?

Here’s the laptop: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/leno....6-wqxga-165hz-intel-i7-13700h-lt-04g-lv.html

Do I need to upgrade? I play mostly The Sims 4 and Dreamlight Valley on my laptop.

Update:

What about Crucial x2 16GB to replace the RAM inside 5200 ddr5 SODIMM?

Go to the laptop support page and look at the memory config page.

It should support any one of the configs you've mentioned. Just know that if you mix RAM kits, it can loosen the timings and run in 2T rate to improve compatibility and will hurt performance a bit (I've never actually researched as to how much and I will look into it).

I run a 16gig 3200 SODIMM with an 8gig SODIMM in my current laptop and it runs everything at 2666 MT/s at 2T with loose timings.

For best results, you'll want to run 2 by 16gig modules but keep in mind your future upgrade needs. Will you need 64gigs in the future?

I can't see the SIMS needing more than 16gigs of RAM but that could change with a 4K textures map and I honestly haven't seen either game benched of late.

I'd personally get the 2 by 16gig kit with the best XMP timings you can find.

Thanks for your help.

Would these x2 16GB RAM 5200 ddr5 SODIMM from Crucial replace the x2 8GB Samsung RAM 5200 ddr5 SODIMM in my laptop okay?

I have a Legion Slim 5i 16IRH8.

Have you checked with CPU-ID or similar that you really do have 2 x 8GB DIMMs? Lenovo's web site says that the 5 Slim 16 has 16GB soldered and just one DIMM socket.
