Upgrading Samsung -> Samsung - Would you expect all apps and even passwords/logons to go across?

My experience of upgrading iPhones has been impressive, with the new phone basically requiring little to no further effort. Literally being nigh on a perfect copy/transfer of the original.

My last experience of upgrading a Samsung to a new Samsung phone, while fairly good, at the very least accounts and logons within apps were not transfered.

Is that to be expected, or as a rule, should Samsung upgrades/migrations even copy that sort of info?

In an ideal world to my mind, the new phone should look identical to the one being upgraded from, complete with desktop icons and folders, along with all data and logons and passwords brought across. Yes? No?

It depends on the app and on how the login credentials are stored. Some will copy over but some will not. Generally I've found the amount of credentials copied over has improved over time. When I went from an S22 to an S23, probably about 75% remained logged in and worked as if they weren't moved, which was much better than when I got the S22.

As for One UI settings, they should copy over just fine. I've not had any problems with that.
And was that just using the standard Samsung upgrade option?

Did all your desktop icons/programs/folders come across too?

And anyone had any experience of if a phone completely fails and they have to setup a new phone from a backup (Samsung/Google)? ie: How much that restores and how well?
