Upgrading sound card + speakers (music only)

It's about time I upgraded my old Creative A400 system

I'm not into gaming or films but I do like my music. I've set myself a £150 budget to cover the soundcard and speakers. What would you recommend?

Well since you are thinking of using your system for music only then going for a 2.1 system would be wise. For the soundcard i would recommend the card i own M-Audio revolution 5.1 that will satisfy your music listening needs. It's not a professional soundcard but it has a better music playback quality than the X-Fi range. As for the speakers i really don't know.

I have some Acoustic Energy Aego M's that are in your budget, and there very nice. I'd recomend them.

The Aego M's certainly seem to be well thought of by people here and I'll take a look at the M-Audio card.
