Upgrading sound system

Hi,

OK guys here my current sound spec:

-DFI Ultra-D onboard sound 7.1

-Cretive P5P800

The P5P800 was bought 2 years ago and frankly is a bit long in the tooth, so what would I need to upgrade:

-Creative Audigy Sound blaster 2 ZS???

-Some decent 2.1 speakers?
 
If you only plan to use 2.1 ever, then the Audigy 2 ZS is a suitable choice of card. As for good 2.1 speakers to go with it, the Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 set is your best choice :) . If you might want to go 5.1 in the future or you play a lot of EAX games, it may be worth getting an X-FI card :)

I would like a 5.1 set, but speaker stands in my room just get in the way. So I'm thinking this:

-Creative Audigy Sound Blaster 2 ZS

-Creative I-trigue L3800
 
Ok, if you won't be able to set up 5.1 properly then yep, 2.1 is best. The Audigy 2 ZS card will be fine for that. The Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 are the best 2.1 set for the money though, I don't know much about the I-Trigue 2.1 L3800s but don't expect they are as good. There are many threads praising the Aego M 2.1 set on this forum :)
