Currently have 2 speakers in the KA atm, 1 on passenger door, 1 on drivers door. AFAIK they are the originals cause of the style. They are old and distort the sound , e.g. buzzing on even slightly basy notes. Therefore wanting to buy some new ones to replace just the 2 in the front, (didnt really wanna put any at the back).

Wanted to know what is the best way to go around doing this.

Option 1 - Going to somewhere like Halfords and picking the speakers I want and getting them to fit them.

OR

Option 2 - Buy the speakers and install them myself (Never done b4)

In two minds whether to get new ones or just put up with the sound. I dont have a massive budget, wanted to keep it <£50.

The question is whether for under £50 can you get a decent set of speakers, or do you need to spend more than that for it to be worthwhile.

Im not fussed about the loudness, just frustrated at the quality of the music and how unclear it is at times. Some days they are fine and dont sound bad, but then on others they are distorted as hell, dunno whether theres a loose connection or just coincidence.

Thanks for reading.

well, i don't know about yours, but in mine i can pump the volume up to 28 and it still sounds fine :/ so either they've been blasted at 30 more times than a low number and are broken, or something else is wrong!

Just thinking about replacing the speakers, would you need to take the door panel off? Or did the speaker have their own little panel bits, I've only just got out my car, after a nice morning razz, but i can't remember what they look like :p

Installing speakers yourself shouldn't be too hard at all imo!

When i put it at high volumes it sounds decent with no distortion at all. Then when I bring it back down to a reasonable level you notice how mucked up they sound, and it sort of buzzes on anything slightly basy. Probably due to years of abuse from previous owners. Not sure really what to do, have the music full blast 24/7?
