Upgrading SSD + fresh install of Win8

Hey guys, long time no speak.

OK - got a copy of Win8 from MSDN and am burning to DVD as we speak.

I've currently got Win7 installed on a 64GB SSD, with most of my applications installed on a secondary 1TB drive, along with most of my data.

Few questions:

1. Do I just unplug both drives, install my new SSD and install the fresh Win8? (I realise the program files will be useless but my data will be fine when plugged back in right?)
2. I've got all the driver discs for my original hardware so should be ok there.
3. Is there any chance of incompatibility with my existing hardware? spec below
4. Is there anything else I need to consider before taking the plunge?

I think i'm fairly confident that all should be ok, but always good to check!
Thanks

Current setup: MSI GD-53 P67 mobo, I5 2500k, 8GB Corsair XMS3, Nvid 570GTX

Looks like you've got it covered.

Windows 7 & 8 are very good at finding the required drivers, you should be ok there & nothing else should be needed.

I think if you just format & rename the new SSD in Win7 you can just select the drive to install it on during the setup.

Ahh right, so I can just do it through Win7 effectively?

How does it work when you restart... Will it know to boot from the drive with Win8 on?

Or should I just disconnect all my old drives and do it the old fashioned way?

Cheers for the response

EDIT: My secondary disk wasn't showing up in windows/disk management but after a few restarts they appeared.

Happy days
