I was just about to upgrade my e6300/DS4 system to a Asus P8Z68-V LX with a PowerColor HD7970. I already have a Corsair hx620w PSU.
I just realised the gpu needs two 8 pin power connectors. Its been years since the first build and I dont know where my spare PSU cables are. The ones I have connected is the 24 pin for the mobo, 8 pin that was also connected to the old mobo, a 4 pin that wasnt connected to anything, and a 6 pin converter that is connected to a normal power cable, the ones used for a normal hard drive.
The gpu comes with 2 x 6->8 pin converters. Am I OK using one for the 6 pin? That would mean 3 cables joined together from psu till it reaches the gfx...
What can I do for the other 8 pin thats needed?
Ive been out of the upgrading game too long...thanks!
