Right guys, we've currently got a pretty old Sky box, but I'd like to get a second hand Sky+ box to use to pause/record things, but is this possible to do without actually upgrading the account? If I got hold of a box, can I simply pop the card into the new box and plug the cables in?

A few years since I had Sky, but I know you will need a multiple output LNB, 2 Cables coming from the LNB to the box and I seem to remember Sky have to turn on the+ services on the box.

I'm sure someone can give you the definative answer.

You have to give them a call to register the new Sky+ box to your card, but that takes all of 5 minutes and is pretty painless. There is no longer any extra fee for the Sky+ features, which is a blessing.

As I'm sure you are aware that to use both tuners (record two channels at once) you'll need a Dual/Quad LNB on the dish and two seperate sat feeds going into the box. But the box can work with one feed.

If you haven't already got a box, drop me a e-mail (address in sig). Then if I have what you want I'll setup a FS thread.
