Hi guys,
I'm looking to upgrade an audio music system to this spec.
How does this look? I would also like a good CPU cooler with low noise if anybody has any idea's?

Thanks, Thomas :D

Looks fine to me. for a low noise cooler take a look at the Arctic cooling Freezer 7 Pro. Very cheap and very good. For the ultimate in silence go for a Scythe Ninja passive or with a slow running Yate Loon fan.

The Gskill PC5300 ram is cheaper than the OCZ too.

Personally i would go for this,

MY-058-GL GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
£124.95 £124.95

GX-044-CO Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-044-CO)
£126.95 £126.95
CP-135-IN Intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - OEM (CP-135-IN)
£107.95 £107.95
Subtotal £449.80
Shipping (City Link Parcel Next Day (Delivered Mon-Fri)) £8.25

Total £538.21

There is no cpu cooler in there, but i would go for either the scythe ninja or the arctic freezer pro.

The e6300 should be easily clockable to 3ghz with this system

Hi GFX is now that much of an issue as it's all 2D program's.
Do you think that mobo is a better buy?
the last system I purchased was a shuttle AMd64 system so I'm a little out of touch with what's currently good. I have seen these CPU OC well but would rather do little or no OC-ing on this setup.

Thanks again, Thomas :)

People are having a lot of success with the ds3 and e6300 in regards to overclocking so i would say its a good combo.

However if you did not want to oc maybe the e6600 would be a better choice, but i just feel that an oc'ed e6300 give's very smilar performance to a e6600 at a fraction of the price.

Admittedly, the graphics card is not that important in 2D, but i think my system gives better all round performance, and would happily handle games if you were inclined.

The Geil should definatly be in your system though.

Thank you, that's gave me some good info to go from, I'll order it tomorrow.
Looking forward to it, the music machine is upgrading from a P4 northwood 3.2

I hope there will be a nice inprovement over that.
