Hi,

I'm new to the tablet scene and just got a new Gemini 9.7 JB tablet but I want to upgrade to 4.2. I can't seem to find the 4.2 download anywhere and no instructions to actually upgrade it with nothing on Gemini's website. I also have a Sumvision tablet and upgraded it no problem with their upgrade software and 4.2 download provided on their website.

My question is, can I upgrade any tablet using this software or does it have to be tablet specific. Will 4.2 install on any tablet and any make??

The software has a Rockchip batch tool so I assume any tablet with a rockchip should be fine??

The ROM needs to have the right drivers to work on your tablet, otherwise it won't work at all, so you will need the correct firmware designed for your tablet. If you can't find 4.2 on Gemini's website, then it means that 4.2 is not avaliable for your tablet via official means as it's up to the manufacturer to get the ROM working on their device. Otherwise everyone would be on 4.3 right now :p...

You can however grab a custom ROM from 3rd party developers, but they usually rely on open source stuff if there's no official ROM to base it on, and may not be as stable.

Is this the correct model for your tablet? http://www.geminidevices.com/10313s.html

There's the Joypad but that says it's ICS, and in your post you said it currently has JB.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, the link you gave me is the correct one and it's 4.1 jellybean.

May have get a custom rom and look into it further.

Thanks again.
