I'm upgrading from 3900X to 9950 X3D, so new motherboard and RAM - also a new hard drive to do the fresh install of windows onto.

I already have a 4090 GPU and a Noctua D-15 on my AM4 (3900x) CPU, I understand I can fit this to AM5 also - so will order new thermal paste.
I have a 2 TB Gigabyte Aorus NVME M.2 drive and 2 x 1 TB SSD drives and a Corsair AX1000 PSU.

It's been a while since I last shopped PC parts, but I'm thinking of buying

Corsair Vengeance Black 96GB 6000MHz DDR5 Memory Kit (96GB (2x48GB) Corsair DDR5 Vengeance Black, PC5-48000 (6000), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 30, XMP 3.0, 1.4V )
Crucial T700 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSD/Solid State Drive (2TB Crucial T700, M.2 (2280) PCIe 5.0 (x4) NVMe SSD, 12400MB/s Read, 11800MB/s Write, 1500k/1500k IOPS)
ASUS ROG STRIX X870-F GAMING WiFi AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX Motherboard (ASUS ROG STRIX X870-F GAMING WiFi, AMD X870, AM5, DDR5, PCIe 5.0, 4x M.2, 2.5G/WiFi7, USB 4.0, AMD EXPO, ATX)
Thermal Grizzly Aeronaut CPU/GPU 1g Thermal Paste

and of course the 9950 X3D as soon as I can add it to my basket!

All ok? or should I swap anything out? cheers

Why so much RAM? What games are you running? DCS or something like that?
Go for Gen 4 NVME you won't notice the difference, they'll run cooler and save money
I'm running lightroom, photoshop, a little video editing, a bunch of AI stuff.
Working with 100MP camera raw files (200MB each) stitching 6+ together for large pano's, running processes like denoise over several hundred raws. Opening 200+ files into photoshop at a time.

I can't say for sure if all this needs so much RAM, but I'm sure Chrome will suck up at least half.

Just need my work stuff to get done as quick as possible so I can get back to path of exile 2 :)

I've also been told I want 870e over 870? so much to learn.. and i'll take a look at gen 4 nvme cheers

I have Lightroom open, 163 jpg files open in Photoshop, Chrome open and listening to music

I'm using 52.4 GB of 63.9 GB (it changed between deciding to take a screenshot and noting it)

It was annoying the other week when I tried to open with more than 300 and photoshop complained, so I had to do it in batches.

Take a look at the Asrock X870E Nova WIFI it offers a lot for the price.

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asro...MI7qfQp62CjAMVn5NQBh3qoSMJEAQYAiABEgL6A_D_BwE

I was just adding to this .. that I was changing for a

ASRock AMD X870E Nova WiFi 7 AM5 DDR5 PCIe 5.0 ATX Motherboard
Samsung 990 PRO 2TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD/Solid

I saw the ASRock looked good, then saw a ranking youtube video, and it got the only S rank and i heard the explanations and yes, I like..
