I recently installed a nvidia 7600gt into my system which has provided me with smooth gameplay but not quite the performance and smoothness that I expected with all effects turned on.

I read a review of a new asus branded 7900gt which got almost twice the average fps in their f.e.a.r 1152 * 864 benchmark compared to a 7600gt.

I think that this would be the ideal card for me to experience games as they are meant to be seen, so Im wanting to sell my 7600gt but I was wondering how much should I expect to be paid for it? I just saw a couple on ebay with a "buy it now" price of £130, which is only 20 pounds less than what I paid for it. Would this be a reasonable price to sell my card?

The exact model is a "XFX GeForce 7600 GT 256MB", I have overclocked it slightly even though it is pre overclocked, if I was to set these overclocks back to the original value would it be ok for me to sell it as a untampered with card?

it looks like for about the same price as a 7900gt I could instead opt for a x1800xt 512mb from sapphire.

this definetely looks like the best option after looking at some benchmarks, if anyone here is interested in my 7600gt then pm me. Paypal only :cool:

something around 2.7 Ghz would be better but i doubt it will be too much bother. youd get the same bottle necking whether it was a 7900 or X1800 ;)

i had a 512mb x1800xt but sold it due to various issues, got an xfx 7900gt extreme edition and im much happier. the problems i had were as follows;
  • the shadows in oblivion were all wrong, not being cast properly.
  • had a weird interference problem in the 6.3 and 6.4 cats and i was stuck on the 6.2s for ages (finally fixed in the 6.5s - ati support was rubbish).
  • AA not working in city of heroes/city of villains. (big issue for me as i love this game)
  • performance in fear really bad.

all of the above are now sorted out and the 7900 overall is a better choice in my opinion. even tho the x1800 on paper has a higher spec and has extra memory.

i don't mean to **** off the x1800 and im not a fanboy of nvida, these are just my personal experiences and i was disappointed by the x1800 as it got so much praise on this forum i was expecting something a lot better.
