Hi guys,

While I'm fairly happy with my current rig (built on the advice of certain people on here, thanks guys) I'm beginning to run a little low on space on my HDD. I was thinking of upgrading to a larger hard drive (1TB minimum) - but also perhaps to an SSD while I was at it (love the idea of under 10 second boot times).

The only problem is, i'm not sure my current mobo is compatible with them (I remember seeing something about that in the manual when I built my current rig).

Here's what I'd like help with - I need a reccomendation on a new motherboard (one that's compatible with my current processor/ram etc.) along with a HDD AND an SSD reccomendation to go with it. Budget is a few hundred quid ideally - mid to high tier.

Current components are below for reference:

Gainward GeForce GTX 580 "GOOD Edition" 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - OEM

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850W V2 High Performance '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020043-UK)

Krypton Z68 TURBO Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.00GHz DDR3 Overclocked Bundle

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Thanks - keen to hear your thoughts.

all motherboards support ssd's

id choose the crucial mx100 drives or the Samsung evo they offer best value for money

you can install windows on your new ssd and decide what to keep/delete off the old hdd and use it for storage

What's your budget? Go for the crucial mx100 512gb if you can afford it. Its great value for money and very quick

maybe 512 but depends on what the computer is currently used for.
video editing would benefit from a 512 ssd but 256 would be more than enough for just an internet & light gaming box
