Is this good value at the moment? Im not going to be overclocking at all, I probably do an equal amount of gaming and video encoding, I know dual core would be much better at encoding but they cost nearly £100 more and wont do anything for current games. I sold my athlon 2600 for £65 which is more than I originally bought it for from ocuk :D and my motherboard for £20 so that already covers more than half the cost :)

What sort of improvement in terms of framerates would I see with this new cpu?

Should I get the retail version or get the oem one and a quiet hsf? Because I value silence when playing games.
