Whilst it's true that people might be doing that, starting a thread is hardly the least conspicuous way to go about it. Better to dip into lots of different threads, I'd imagine.

I have memories of having a Citizen dot matrix printer hooked up to Spectrum via a Datel +D floppy disk / parallel interface but I can't remember what I used with it...
