Upgrading to Intel 9260?

I bought an Intel wireless AC 6280 for my laptop and thinking if I should upgrade to 9260... (I could use the 6280 for another laptop so money isn't an issue here)

However I don't really get the 160MHz claim on 5GHz. Does that means it will be even harder to pass through walls?

Also would the speed increase make any difference for internet or would it mostly be for network ?

As I'm about to buy a new router for my house, I'm trying to figure the best option here.

It depends on the router just as much as the WiFi adapter at the other end.

The weakest link in the chain will be the limiter.

If you're already upgrading the router I'd see how that pans out, but there are physical factors to consider, distance and obstacles such as walls to take into consideration.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that's why I'm into this currently.

I've still not purchased any router and checking what tech could be useful. I will try to avoid the wall that make the second stair (the rest is pretty thin) but wondering if this 9260 could give real value in real life. And quite frankly, just understanding the real difference between both cards.

MU-MIMO would certainly be useful (although not working great currently?) and Bluetooth 5 could be useful in future but the main concern is this claimed faster speed and how does that relates to obstacles...
