Hi, currently I got 4s on contract with 3... I still got about 8 months on this thing..
However I have been offered Iphone 5 on pay as you go at a very nice price... Question is, will I be able to ring 3 and request nano-sim and use it my newly purchased Iphone 5?? Or they will go mad that I dont want to upgrade with them and tell me to either pay up upgrade money to them or keep using current headset?

Thank you

They won't care one bit in the slightest. Might as well go into a 3 shop and get the new sim there and then, they should be able to change the numbers over too.

A contract is essentially a loan for the cost of the handset, as long as you pay the contract they don't care what you do with the handset itself as its paid for either way.

You think they will be able to transfer my micro sim onto nano sim right in 3 store?? I thought it would take longer than that, want to keep my number

Whenever I've taken mine in it usually takes between 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Depends on the network I guess but Vodafone are quick. They will give you a pay as you go nano sim with some random number and then port the number over to it.

When i phoned Three and asked to switch my sim to a micro sim, they guy on the phone told me there is usually a charge but he had waved it as i pay by direct debit. Either that or he was in a good mood that day :p

Can you not cut then down? I know you can do it with the micro never seen a nano

You can technically cut them, its still the same chip as a regular one. The only problem is that the sides are sooo close to the chip I would imagine it would get easily damaged unless you have mega sharp scissors. Laying it flat and using a kitchen knife might be better as it won't bend the sim as it cuts like scissors do.
