I have still not received a notification to upgrade to windows 10,

I am thinking if I should force the update but I am worried I might run into problems as the OS is still fairly new.

I am running Windows 8.1 without any issues so do you think I should upgrade or wait a while yet while its ironed out a bit more?

Thanks

I've upgraded 6 systems to Windows 10 so far and all have had some minor issues - mostly network card based strangely enough.

But over those problems now and can definitely recommend the upgrade from 8.1. I never liked 8.1 so stayed on 8.0 until 10 came out and it gives a nice performance boost and resolves all my 8.1 issues.

You should create a system image if you are unsure about the upgrade, that way you can revert back to exactly as you have 8.1 setup now.

Forget the exact path on 8.1 but I think the image backup is @ : Control Panel\System and Security\File History & click "Windows 7 backup" (bottom left corner) and then "Create System Image" on the left and follow the wizard.

Thanks a lot guys I have already downloaded the stuff off the Microsoft site when it was first released just didn't install it.

I have got quite a bit of stuff on my system so do you recommended an upgrade or clan install?

I usually do clean installs nut have heard a lot of issues with it?

i would say clean install, i found some stuff like nero did not work (missing dll) but since i did a fresh install nero 12 installed and worked a treat, also found with the upgrade my internet kept dropping out but even that is fine now, my only downside is messing about looking for drivers

I will go for a clean install but leave it for now as my system is working fine and I don't have time to do it as yet so see how it goes.
