Hi,

mum has XP home and Office 2003 (among other stuff) and is getting a Windows 7 PC.

I need to know if:

a) office 2003 will work on windows 7 and also the office personalised dictionaries (these will need to be backed up and exported to new install)
b) can outlook express files be exported into windows 7's outlook express (the calendar from OE is the bit needed the most)

cheers for help

There shouldn't be a problem running 2003 nor exporting emails. Though of course don't delete anything until you are sure everything is as it should be on the new machine.

One thing to note tho... there isn't any Outlook Express or "Mail" app that comes with Win7 that I know of. You'd be better off importing email into Outlook.

Hope the upgrade goes OK.

ah so win7 has no outlook express
can you import OE files into office outlook?

these are the sort of things you'd hope MS would nail before releasing a new version (can we make it super easy for pc novices to migrate their stuff)
