Hi

I just brought Windows 7 Home Premium want to upgrade from Vista Home Premium. I don't want to do a fresh install I want to just install Windows 7 over Vista.

My question is where do all my files go from Vista, and does all my previous things I installed on Vista still work like Firefox, Games, Software etc?

Will everything still be on my Desktop once I have done installing?

Cheers

What "bitness" are the OSs? If you are going from 32 to 64 bit then you'll need to reinstall.

In theory, the upgrade process should keep things intact. However it's always wise to do a backup before something as drastic as replacing the OS.

Is there any reason you are opting for 32bit?

Unless you have an absolutely vital piece of hardware/software that you know doesn't work under 64bit, I would suggest you go 64 bit over 32.
