upgrading to Windows 7-pls help

hi,
I bought a HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed. I was thinking about upgrading to Windows 7, I was going to buy Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Upgrade Edition for XP or Vista users is that the right version? also-would i need a Windows vista disk to install Windows 7?

Hi, yes, Windows 7 HP is fine for you. You won't need a Vista disc if you are upgrading to x86. However, I am sure your laptop is x64 compliant so consider getting the x64 version of Windows 7, backup all your old data and do a clean install of 7 x64
