Hello peeps. Right, I was thinking of upgrading some bits and bobs on my rig. My spec is in the sig by the way. I was thinking of maybe either 4 or 8gb of ram. I've been told (by my father) that it's probably better for me to just buy two sticks of 2gb so that I have 4gb overall and can run it in dual channel, is this true? And also I was pondering a graphics upgrade, I am unsure wether to go SLI and match another 9800GT with my current card or to just buy a single, more powerful card. While on that topic also what are the rules with SLI? For example, can I put any 9800 in there? Or even an 8800? Or does it have to be the same model number, the same amount of Vram etc?

Now, money is in short supply to me so graphics card wise no more than £120 and for ram my budget is around £35-£40. Any suggestions? :)

£120 is touching gtx260 money so if you can stretch another £10 i would get one of those, imho its always better to go for a single card option.

As for memory there is loads to choose from for that price and i would agree 2x 2gb. Stick to OCZ / Corsair and you wont go far wrong

That Kingston RAM sounds alright :) But would you say that a GTX260 will outperform twin 9800GT's?

Should be similar, but another 9800GT will be MUCH cheaper. What resolution are you running at? OC your cpu to 4ghz, will see a nice boost in overall performance.

I'd like to overclock but I don't have much know how. :( At the moment I'm still using the stock Heatsink and fan as well. If I were to purchase a 9800GT would it matter which make it was? Also would I have to buy 512mb to match the 512 I have now? Or can you mix and match and buy say... a 1gb card for example?
