Hi guys - having a bit of trouble withmy Vista upgrade disk. I've installed Vista Home Premium Upgrade on a fresh hard drive without activating it. This now gives me a working OS for 30 days. Next I upgraded this version following the instructions I've found on the net. It goes through all the stages fine:

Copying windows files
Gathering files
Expanding files
Installing features and upgrades.

It then gets stuck on the Completing upgrade stage. It seems to work for a while before coming up with the following message:

"Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install windows restart the computer and then restart the application"

I then need to restart the PC which then rolls back Vista to the 30 day trial version.

I've tried this a few times and get the same result. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jed.

I had similar problems with an install of vista on my machine. Giving very simily problems to what you are getting. The only way I managed to get vista installed with out any errors or the system hanging was to disable the comport in the motherboard. Its worth giving it a go
