I have 2 x 19" Dell flat screen CRTs and have been really reluctant to change these for TFTs due to picture quality being reported generally better on CRTs.

However I cannot get myself further thana bout a foot away from them and I think they are the source of much tiredness and tired eyes, also had to wear glasses for the the first time in my life at 26 2 years ago after being sat in front of these for quite some time I beleive they may be a contributing factor towards my eyesight degradation.

My question is what would you do ?
get one bigger monitor or 2 smaller monitors to replace them ?
What size would you go for ?

I am on a budget of about £200 (for one monitor) and if i were to buy 2, I would get the other one in a couple of months when funds allowed.

General stuff really.
don't really game any more tbh so beyond web browsing and watching the odd film, all i really do is mess around with the odd excel spreadsheet.

your dells will be 4:3 ratio so even the new widescreen monitors will feel big. Maybe you should look into one 22" or 24", it all depends on how you use your computer really, multitasking is far easier with 2, you will have to think how much you like to spread things out or does that second monitor get left not doing much.

If im not doing much I usually have the web page/ document on 1 screen and messenger, email, music on the other.

I believe this to be true, LCD's are far easier on the eyes I find
