So I think its time to upgrade my brothers old XPS 630i. The specs currently are:

Memory (RAM): 2813 MB
CPU Info: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
CPU Speed: 2395.9 MHz
Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT x2

That CPU is still pretty good, but only once overclocked, which probably can't be done with the Dell motherboard.

Have you got a budget for the upgrade? I assume the PC is mainly used for gaming?

Dont really have a budget, lets say around £1000 for the whole lot? Any good guides for overclocking the Q6000?

edit - What are the chances of just selling the 630i? Im tempted just to get a brand new rig.

Awesome cheers mate. How easy is it these days to fit all the parts in? last time I did it was a good 5 years ago.

Also, what are the full systems like for value for money. I was looking at the "Titan Wraith" Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz @ 4.00GHz DDR3 SLI System"

Depends how well designed the Dell case is, I'm assuming it'll take standard ATX motherboards.

As for the full systems, OCuk are pretty decent value for money if you don't feel like having the hassle of building your own and the Titan Wraith is certainly a very quick system.

Given my specs in the first post, if I was to buy one of the top of the range GPU's today how much of a boost in games would I get? Will upgrade the rest at a later date.
