Hi, Need new card to replace my dead gtx280, currently using my old 8800gt

i was thinking gtx570 as i only game at 1680x1050, hoping to play most game on high.
At the moment only play bfbc2 and tf2, hoping to play bf3, skyrim, rage when they come out.

should i get gtx580? over kill?, these new card would they fit antec 900?

my current rig
q6600 3.4ghz
asus p5q deluxe
4gig ram
5xhdd
cosair 650w

Thxs

I think GTX570 should be fine, given the results from BF3 alpha are true.

Twin FrozR III takes only two slots in your case - but will be a little more noisy than the DC II.

DC II takes three slots in your case if I'm correct. It's very quiet but would be a pain for most mobo PCIE spacing layout to install multiple cards without hurting the airflow. (e.g. for your specific mobo, if you plan to install a pair of such three-slot cards for SLI, then these cards will stick firmly together, leaving the upper card having no room to breath.)

I wouldn't install a pair of GTX570 into your rig, for these reasons:

1) GTX570 lack the vram to utilize multi-GPU power without lag spikes/stuttering.
2) Your PSU may not be strong enough.

If you decide never go for SLI in this rig in the future, then the DC II may seem a good option, for quietness.

Battlefield 3 alpha trial, it was released to selected people last week for testing. Pretty enjoyable as well. Still in the early stages of development, for example, with a single oc'd 470 i was hitting a max of 50fps, with an updated version of the client, were sli was enabled, 80 fps.

nice. good graphics or console quality upscaled?

Bit early to say tbh, as the amount of options in the trial were very sparse, low, med, high, no other settings at all such as aa, af, bloom or shadows etc.
