Good Afternoon All,

I am looking to upgrade my current pc as its 8 years old now. I mainly use the PC for sim racing. The spec of my current pc is as follows:

  • Asus rampage extreme III motherboard
  • i7-950 quad core processor @ 3.06ghz
  • 12gb ddr3 Kingston hyper x ram
  • Gigabyte GTX 1070 8gb graphic card
  • 256gb SSD
  • 1TB Hard drive for storage
  • Asus Wifi card
  • CORSAIR 750W PRO SERIES (HX750) 80+ MODULAR PSU
  • COOLIT ECO A.L.C
  • multiple silent fans
I want to future proof for another good amount of years, i have been looking at the following upgrade bundle.

8PACK APPROVED ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO OVERCLOCKED I7 9700K @5.1GHZ GAMING BUNDLE

  • Intel Core i7 9700K Eight Core Coffeelake Processor Overclocked to 5.1GHz
  • Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero Intel Z390 (Socket 1151) DDR4 ATX Motherboard
  • 16GB of 3866Mhz memory DDR4 Memory
  • Asetek 570LX 240mm High Performance CPU Cooler - 115X
  • 970 EVO POLARIS 500GB M.2 2280 PCI-E 3.0 X4 NVME SOLID STATE DRIVE
I was then going to keep my current graphics card,1TB hard drive for storage, power supply, case and fans.

What is everyone's thoughts on this? Am i missing a better upgrade for a similar price?

Thanks in advance

Matt

@Tint1n

Food for thought, for £60 more, then 8 pack bundle with Hero board

9900k instead of 9700k, and one of the best designed z390 boards. 16 phases Vs the 4/8 of the hero or how ever you want to read into it

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,261.02 (includes shipping: £11.10)
