Uplay game launcher not on my system, but installer says it already is :/

hey guys,

just done a fresh windows install and went to download Uplay for AC3 and Far Cry 3 and the installer wont let me install the application.

every time i go to install it, it says theirs a newer version already installed, but its not on my system, i cant fine it anywhere

what can i do? have i got to re-install windows again?

You could try registry edit. Which personally I don't like but I have had to do it before.
Search regedit in windows and then search regedit for uplay and remove it.
This would be a last resort and could damage your OS.

How did you do the fresh install the first time around?
New hd?
Format?

nope, wiped everything and re-installed a fresh windows onto my HDD, ive just done another now and going to install AC3 first and let it install Uplay then let it update itself
