This may sound like a daft question, but do you need a bit of hackin knowledge to play this game?

I was almost going to buy it a few weeks ago but thought I would probably get stuck at the first level.

lol i remember when i was a little noob playin this game for the first time. i was genuinely scared about being caught. i remember reading a review where the reviewer actually disconnected his modem when it was starting up.

Wasn't that a free game or is this a clone of an online ogame type game?
No it was the first game by Introversion, the indie developers that more recently made Darwinia (also available on steam). It was never free but it's always been cheaper than most games I think.

Sure as hell, scared me on the first hack. I hacked the admin account password and then disconnected, thinking that the password would work when I reconnected and hence longer to complete the tasks. Doh!!! the password expires and you have to do the hack again. Quite a thrill to be competing against a system that tracks your every move. I loves it!!!

:)

10/10

Yes great game, although DO NOT Play it in a public place like a airport.....YOu mauy have security and MI5 asking questions if anyone see's the screens lol

O/T they are bring a new game out this week (friday at 6pm GMT) called DEFCON, all about nuclear war, bombing your enemy etc, on a certain lines of uplink. Supposed to be good so the reviews go.

I have ordered it, its only a £10 yes thats right, about time some of the bigger game developers took notice of company's like Introversion and there pricing structure.

But back to Uplink, great game, gets on your nerves though getting caught if you have not covered your tracks well.

Oh for most fun with Uplink,,,,Play it on a laptop in a busy area lol

Thinking of getting this and putting it on my notebook. Can you download this on steam and then still be able to transport it to another machine?

Also, and I sound like a real noob saying this, but you don't need a connection to the internet to play do you? Everyone talks about cutting connections and I am sure that you are talking about in game but I just want to be sure.
