Peculiar query. Haven't done this before but I wanted to see if I could play music on this phone via my car entertainment system - which I also use with Android Auto on my Mazda CX-5 "screen".

I connected the phone to my PC in file transfer mode and checked I could transfer music files (uploaded CDs as mp3 files from an iTunes media folder.

I uploaded a test then deleted it (a Buddy Holly) as I realised it was WMA files! which wouldn't play. I deleted this folder which was in the music folder. I then correctly uploaded 6 more albums which were in the correct mp3 format. All OK - connected to Mazda via USB cable and it played OK BUT (there always is) each album played but the artist cam up as Buddy Holly - even though I had deleted this folder from the phone music folder.

If I search the phone file system in the PC "buddy Holly" does not appear!

Any ideas where this "memory" could be hiding please?

Thanks, Mel

wma files do not work on Motorola G73 5G (plays but no sound) - But wav and mp3 do. Anyway phone / Mazda seems to have forgotten the deleted album - all by itself. so all hunky dory!
