Upp sold to Virgin Media :(

I’ve just had an email telling me that Upp is now part of Virgin Media (thanks Vladimir Putin) and it will be switched over at a later date this year.

I’m not massively happy about it but I still have the option of Lightspeed I suppose.

It’s a shame because they’ve been superb.

Wasn't the takeover agreed a while back? I'm sure I read about it last year.

It was.

The CityFibre CEO reckons that the consolidations aren’t over. Every altnet will merge to become one within the next 3-5 years. Not sure I like the sound of that
