I hear parts of Hackney is quite rough what do you guys think of Upper clapton?? I'm thinking of moving down there.:)

One of my old stomping grounds.
Next to Springfield park is actually quite nice but you are only a few hundred metres from my old street which is as ruff as a badgers ****.
S'pose it all depends on what you are used to & how you handle yourself.

Oh:/

I'm moving to Mount pleasant hill, just off upper clapton road.

it can be pretty rough round there, plus i've always found that compared to the rest of london the transport round there is a bit rubbish

You're on the quiet side of Upper Clapton road but literally a few streets away from Crapsville.
Hackney is what we call a dark manor but having said that it's Very localised, Stay out of Dalston though.
On a side note Ronnie Kray moved over the road from there to Cedra Court in Casanove road. Casanove road leads up to Stokey (Stoke Newington) Some seriously good pubs & fun up that way.
Stamford hill is up the road as well but that's full of orthadox jews, They aren't a problem at all but they don't mix making certain areas/streets seem like nobody lives in them.
Lastly Springfield park is sweet for the Doris during summer.

Dropping in to a Trance party or Rave is a long way from living there & bowling about the streets.
Personally Dalston market is one of my fave markets but I'm comfortable anywhere, It does all depend on the person.

A friend of mine moved there approx a year ago. First time I went to visit I was preturbed by the knife sticking out of the "Let By" estate agents board. He reassured me it was quite normal round Hackney way...

just a fact for you. the hospitals near to upper clacton/hackney sent their doctors to south africa to train how to treat gunshot and stab wounds in the best possible way cause they occur so regularly. it is also one of the areas that the met police will give you an extra 3k a year just to work there
